Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard poked his head into the firing range. “Hey, uh, Lorne?” He said awkwardly. “Can you come over here?”
Lorne looked up from cleaning a P-90, curious, “Yes, sir. What do you need, sir?” Sheppard scratched the back of his head. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Just, uh,” he looked around, and seeing no one, he continued, “Did you get a sort of, uh, rash type thing at P3X-227?” He lifted his shirt up to show his XO the red-ish purple discoloration on his stomach.
Lorne’s eyebrows shot up, “Oh, from the –”
“Yeah,” John nodded.
“Where we were –”
“Yeah.” They both blushed.

John squinted at him some more, “No. Is there a blizzard outside?”
“Yes, sir. It’s good that you remember that. Can you tell me who the leader of Atlantis is?”
“Woolsey. Did I hit my head?” He went to touch it, but as soon as his hand was out of the safe warmth of sleeping bags and Evan Lorne, he realized his mistake.
“I’m not sure,” Evan grabbed the chilled hand and wrapped his own around it, “But I’d like to be safe. What’s your full name and rank?”
“Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard of the United States Air Force.” John huddled closer to Lorne, nuzzling his XO’s neck. Sighing in comfort, Evan wrapped one hand around his companion’s neck.
“Can you tell me the sum of 37 and 28?” Lorne whispered into his ear.
“65,” John mumbled. Evan smiled into his cheek.
